No, it is not the Ments, but hey you could be mistaken. – Photo Fawcett, c/o The Perfect Wave

The Perfect Wave operate a number of boats in the Maldives. Bob Fawcett is a surf guide and photographer on various boats. Bob has been in the Maldives since early April keeping a photographic journal of the surf conditions so far this season.

Word from Bob, and dozens of our guests both from the Central and North Male Atolls is that early season has been the best in recent years.

Kandooma too has been quite consistent. Our surf guide at Kandooma Resort, Rob Underwood said, “2015 has been the best season I have witnessed in my 4 years at Kandooma for sure. The weather has been great and as far as swell consistency is concerned – April and May were extremely impressive.”

Monday April 27 was  the standout day. The guests enjoyed perfect glass all day, Kandooma Right was barrelling off its brain. We also enjoyed a very consistent week of well overhead SE swell from May 10-17.

Kandooma works best with a direct south east swell and a west wind. It is strange, because Indo has been a little slow, but we have been scoring some plenty of localised SE swell here at Kandooma.

Besides, even on the flat days, the Maldives are still such an amazing place to chill out and have a family holiday. You can go exploring the area on a canoe or stand up paddle board, snorkelling trips, wake boarding and jet skis. There is also a gym here for people who can’t sit still. The diving here is world class and if you’re looking to relax then cocktails by the pool or one of the stunning beaches usually keeps the guests very happy.

We are also hosting an amazing week of music here from September 6-13. Tex Perkins from The Beasts Of Bourbon, The Cruel Sea, Tex, Don and Charlie fame is playing 3 unique, intimate gigs in 7 days – just like Donavon’s shows last year.
