The best time of year to be a surfer in Europe is in autumn.
.
The summer crowds have headed back home. The North Atlantic swell season is kicking into gear, with the best spots from France, Spain and Portugal breaking to perfection.
.
The cherry on the cake: if you are a fan of pro surfing, you can book your visit to rub elbows in the water and at the bar with the likes of Kelly Slater, Mick Fanning or Joel Parkinson when the World Surf League comes to Hossegor and Peniche. Of course, the wine, food and choice of cultural activities are as equally fantastic as the waves, any time of the year.

No matter the European surfing hotspot, Hossegor, Mundaka, Peniche, Ericeira or all of the Algarve, The Perfect Wave will make sure you have a trip of a lifetime.
