Keramas surf: Who said there are no lefts on the East Coast of Bali?

Bali’s East Coast is famous for it’s right-handers that rule this area. The legendary Keramas surf break, and also Padang Bai, Purnama, Nusa Dua, Sanur… With the surf being the best during Australian summer (November – March), surfers visit the area to score some of the best righthanders in Indonesia. But what about goofy footers that would love to score some lefts?

Our friends from Nomad Keramas Surf Resort sent us a quick message with some images of a lefthander that is nearby this surf resort. Who said there are no lefts on the East Coast of Bali?

There are many other waves apart from the famous Keramas Right in the area around the resort. Tourists wouldn’t normally get there unless coming through Nomad Keramas Surf Resort.

Arron: I had an amazing time traveling round with Tom & Marsh finding “perfect waves” all around Bali East, West & South Coast. Beach Breaks, Point Break & Reef Breaks which I had a humbling encounter with haha. As there was only me in the lodge it made the entire experience more personal. Reggae bars & Bintangs at night became a standard, flat spell hit so the boys showed me Uluwatu smashed beers in Single Fins then out in Kuta till early morning, top boys had a wild night. All in all I can’t recommend Nomads enough for its location, staff, relaxed atmosphere and above all the lads knowledge to find a waves even on days with hardly any swell. Dan: Nomads Keramas was awesome! Tom and Marsh are sick guys, the Wayans and all their crew are awesome too. The place is nice, a little far away from everything else in Bali…which I take as a great thing. The week I spent there got me geared up to surf a lot more when I get home.

Ella: Hi Josh, Thanks very much for recommending Keramas Lodge. We had a great time, the kids didnt want to leave and nor did the parents. Tim got some great waves at Keramas and Ceasar was a great surf guide. We will definately be back next year! plenty of things to do and out of Kuta’s traffic and noise which was nice but still close enough to go our for dinner and for a look around!
