The Perfect Wave team are all back on deck, refreshed after from some well earned time off with family and friends at the back end of a busy year of expansion.
Big congratulations are in order for key Manly-based surf experience specialist Charlie Pierce and his vivacious wife Julia, as they gave birth to lovely Luella the week before Christmas. It didn’t stop Charlie letting his hair down at The Perfect Wave’s Christmas party at Manly Bowling Club though. That kid can party – and so can the whole team for that matter! We kicked on at Moonshine, the top bar at The Steyne, and then later Donny’s, Manly. Hmmm, as I said to my fellow stuttering staffers, “Definitely my kind of company – The Perfect Wave.” Work hard, party harder.
Since Christmas, we have been surviving on skeleton staff as company director and CFO Rhonda headed back to WA to visit friends and relatives in Perth with hubbie and little Kaedan. Managing Director Jamie, wife Marie and both their daughters enjoyed some time off with family on the northern beaches and Central Coast, whilst surf experience specialist Adam enjoyed a brief return to his family roots in Cronulla. Star performer Sylvia pretty much held the fort at our northern beaches office working right through – the trooper she is.
Blade had an enjoyable time with friends in Melbourne, whilst super Sara split to Byron. Loz-Dawg from The Perfect Snow went exploring in Tasmania with his ever smiling partner Elsa. Gina, her happy hubby and little Jack bolted to NZ to visit friends and fam. Bruno’s family are over from Peru, so Brun and his wife took the whole clan up to Noosa to kickback and sample a few small sandrunners. Kristy and fam also headed north to Valla and enjoyed some fun, uncrowded beachies whilst Kim took off to South America with her partner on an exotic 2-month voyage of enlightenment. We all can’t wait to see Kimmy back.
2015 is shaping to be an extremely exciting year for The Perfect Wave – our eighth anniversary. I have been hanging out at furniture shops buying office furniture for our new sub office, opening at 44 The Kingsway, Cronulla on February 1. We are also looking at staffing a desk upstairs at Rip Curl’s flagship Bondi store in the coming months, so our growing throng of southern and eastern suburbs clients can come on in and get some personal advice on their preferred surf destinations at either new location very soon.
Barry, our Europe MD, has been busy furnishing also. Barry established our French office in Hossegor in 2013, and due to the success and growth of the business in Europe, Barry is opening a TPW office in Cornwall, England.
It was great to see the Godfather of the Maldives, Brian James, back in Aus briefly pre Christmas. Brian has been snowboarding in Japan before returning to Cokes Surf Camp for renovations as TPW takes over management of the first surf camp in the Maldives as well as finalizing our 2015 Maldives charter schedule.
We were also super stoked to briefly have Rob “Undies” Underwood and his beautiful partner and yoga diva Jolie back in Sydney from running The Perfect Wave’s surf programme at Holiday Inn Kandooma in the Maldives.
Charlie and Jamie are heading to Papua New Guinea in Feb (widely regarded as the best month in PNG) on PNG Explorer. It is sold out for this year already but you can get in early for next year – Click Here
