GalleryEvery aspect of Aganoa is designed to immerse you in Savaii’s pristine natural environment while preserving the integrity of one of the last untrodden surf wonderlands on the planet. This is a world of open-air and open spaces, of falling asleep to the soft patter of rain on a tin roof or waking to a light trade wind breeze sliding off of the ocean. Aganoa Beach Fales provides a whole new, highly-choreographed personal experience at a one-of-a-kind location. This secret corner of the Earth awaits you, offering memorable and authentic experience for couples, families, and surfers alike.
Surfing Highlights
Aganoa Right
Savai’i’s premiere wave and just a quick paddle from the beach at Aganoa. Like Salani on neighboring Upolu island, Aganoa Right is extremely consistent, breaking any time of the year and at all sizes from 2-10ft+. The Right also has multiple take-off spots for any surf-level and is optimal at mid though high tides. Wedging on 2-3 different peaks, the Right offers a hollow tube on takeoff, then walling into the inside, and barreling again before the channel.
Aganoa Left
Also in front of the restaurant at Aganoa and a short paddle from the Right, the Left peels around the reef pass and into a channel on the western side of the beach. Depending on the swell direction, the Left has a gorgeous barrel as well.
Pastor Point
A long, extremely fun right 30 minutes up the northeast side on the corner of an outer reef (that’s still paddle-able). While the wave still barrels, it’s a bit softer than Aganoa and perfect for any skill level.

The Resort
Aganoa Beach Fales Samoa is located on a five-acre oceanfront parcel bordering the Tafua Rainforest Preserve, with exclusive access to a glorious white sand beach and crystal clear lagoon. The beach is protected by a barrier reef making it ideal for swimming, snorkeling and sunbathing. Aganoa is a full-service, all-inclusive Surf Lodge, featuring surfing experiences for a maximum of eight guests, while also catering to non-surfers and their families who enjoy an active travel experience.
Activities
Aganoa offers sea kayaks for guests wanting to roam the lagoon, kayak fish, or venture further along the coast. Snorkel and dive gear is available for guests to explore the colorful and lively coral reefs that thrive right off our shores in the always crystal clear waters. Alofaaga Blowhole: A natural phenomenon just 30 minutes away. Aganoa often hosts an ancient, traditional Samoan feast/celebration called fiafia, guests may get to taste an array of every Samoan delicacy from palusami to underground oven-baked pig.
Surfing
Samoa receives south swell all year round from both Antarctic ground swells from New Zealand and locally generated tropical activity. These swells come from deep in the ocean and pound Samoa’s coral reefs, often creating steep takeoffs and hollow tubes. Generally, Samoa is recommended for intermediate to advanced surfers due to its powerful, heavy surf and sharp, shallow reefs. The island of Savaii is a swell magnet with surf on the south, east and north coasts. From late March to November, huge swells created by lows from Antarctica pound the south coast.
