The Aileoita is a beautifully crafted surf charter boat, designed from the ground up by surfers for surfers with high safety and comfort standards - it is a step above the rest. Recently rebuilt and overhauled from the ground up, Aileoita is back, better than ever. Aileoita and Jordan (the owner) have been featured prominently in a number of Mentawai Islands related articles and features in a variety of publications and web sites all over the world. Aileoita's crew are one of the most experienced crews available with a track record that is second to none, and consistently deliver their guests the trip of a life time. By request, the Aileoita is also available to take trips up to North Sumatra.
The standard trip duration includes 11 days of surfing - 12 nights on the boat overall, but longer or shorter packages are available upon request, as well as Surf Charter Boat/Kandui Resort custom combo packages.
Aileoita is a 70' x 15' Hardwood boat, custom-built in 2002. It is fitted with all the amenities of home, including full air conditioning, TV, VCR, VCD, stereo, fridge, freezer, radar, depth sounder, GPS, VHF/HF radio, 220V generator, life jackets, flares, EPIRB, first-aid kit, tender and outboard, and a generous living room.
She has a cruising speed of 9 - 11 knots and is powered by two 180 HP engines perfectly suited to attain its optimal hull speed. 2 engines = much greater safety at sea, as well as increased speed, but also higher fuel costs. When looking into different boats for your next Mentawai Islands vacation and how they are priced, please keep this in mind. Aileoita is competitively priced comparing to several single-engine boats, despite its higher fuel consumption.
The Aileoita has an immense back deck with wrap-around benches and a roof, which is great for hanging out, and waiting for a bite on the trolling gear.
The staff on the Aileoita includes the captain, a mechanic, a chef, two deck hands, and a highly qualified surf guide, Sebastian Imizcoz, or Johann, both trained by long time surf guide guru, Jordan Heuer. Sebastian is also a professional photographer who will be taking professional shots of you and your group during the trip. Photography service is included in the price of the charter.
Accommodation on board is in five private twin share cabins. Six of the ten large beds are wide enough to comfortably accommodate a couple, and the other four beds are large enough to accommodate even larger surfers. The maximum number of surfers allowed on board is 10.

Hey Charlie, first day back at work after our trip. Aloita was bloody amazing, all the workers there as really friendly and it felt like we were part of a small family. The surf guide cahn really knows his sh*t and we couldn’t have had a better guide, it was especially nice that he grew up in our neck of the woods. We got some great surf, ended up surfing about 10 breaks. The food at Aloita is some of the best food I have ever had. As soon as I can get time off im going back. Thanks for organising it all for us!!
Hey Rhonda, It was an awesome trip. We scored really fun Lances Left and Macaronis for the first 3 days, then I cut my calf on my fins and ended up getting 5 stitches off Hendra, one of the boat crew. I was out of the water 5 days, but this coincided with a flat spell so it wasn’t too bad. The others still got fun small waves around the place though. The flat spell broke with a 6-8ft swell which we scored good Rifles. Jordan, the guy who runs Kandui resort said it was the best he had seen it in 3 years. For the rest of the trip we just stayed and surfed in the Playgrounds area and got pretty fun waves. Everyone had a good time and we were impressed with the boat. The food was awesome and so was the crew. Bruno our surf guide was a cool guy and a really good photographer. His photos were pretty epic. He was also always keen to make sure that we were surfing the best waves available wherever we were. I would definitely re-book this boat and make sure that Bruno is on it. I can flick you a few pics if you don’t have any file size limitations. Oh yeah, thanks for organising it as well Rhonda. Another good trip.
It was an amazing experience with every aspect covered so i couldn't have asked for more (well maybe to be a better surfer on the big days!) Bruno, Hendra and the crew were exceptional be it the food, the wave knowledge and the excellent service not to mention the photographs. You guys have put together an amazing package which is both easy and affordable. Keep up the good work! Many thanks and see you again soon Joel
